ABOUT ME
Dr Anton Kruger is a Clinical Psychologist (MA Clin Psych, PDM,PhD) and qualified in 1986.
In the period 1987-1998 he worked in private practice in Benoni and Johannesburg. In 1998 he took the post as Consultant Clinical Psychologist in the National Health Service (NHS) in Guildford, England until 2007.He continued to work in private practice at the Priory and Nuffield Hospitals in Surrey and in Harley Street, London till 2012.
In the same period he lectured in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) at the St George’s Hospital programme for post graduate medical students specialising in Psychiatry. He also acted as mentor for the Master’s degree students in Clinical Psychology at Surrey University,England. In the same period he worked as Clinical Psychologist with special interest in Sport Psychology for Surrey Golf Union looking after their junior squad. On a corporate level he served as a consultant for companies such as BP and British Airways.
He continued further specialised training in CBT at the Oxford Cognitive Therapy Centre, Oxford, England and Beck Institute for Cognitive Therapy, Philadelphia, USA.
Since 2012 he has taken up posts as Clinical Lead for Psychological Services at Worcester Hospital, Worcester, South Africa and part time supervisor for the final year Master’s degree students in Clinical Psychology at Stellenbosch University.
He practises in private practice in Somerset West and Oude Westhof, Bellville, Cape Town.
He holds Chartered membership with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and Health Professions Council (HPC) England and full membership with the British Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP), United Kingdom. He is also registered with the HPCSA, South Africa.
